Langkawi - Enjoying the Day

I'm posting a few pics of langkawi wild flowers, the bee and the endless beauty of Tanjung Rhu.

Today's post is an essentially random collection of  my own personal pictures  V(^_^)

Blossom

At the moment, you do start to see some yellow up close, though when they bloom it'll be all white...

The possibilities are endless...

Langkawi is hot and humid today, so I'd like to try to cool off by returning to the quintessential pleasantness of Langkawi's summer. This image was taken at Tanjung Rhu,Langkawi.Close up.Simply grab my camera and macro lens,or anything in the 40-60mm range, and extension tube-and start crawling around on the floor or beach.

To bee or not to bee

Nikkor 35-80mm.Despite the negatives about this lens (plastic lens mount, slow minimum apertures, questionable build quality) it was surprisingly good for snapshots around the house or on the street.

Mahsuri - Another Legend & Another Tales @ Langkawi.

Makam Mahsuri is a area that memorializes a woman whom is believed in causing the fall and rise of Langkawi for seven generations. According to folklore, she was accused of adultery and executed by stabbing. Her tomb, Makam Mahsuri, has become a tourist attraction on the Langkawi island.

White-Blooded Lady

Basically, I’m enjoying photography without responsibility. This Mahsuri pix was taken at Kota Mahsuri in Langkawi.

The Curse .

Following the old Islamic punishment for adultery, Mahsuri was to be tied to a tree and stabbed to death. When they stabbed her, white blood flowed from her wound, signifying her innocence. With her dying breath, Mahsuri cursed Langkawi to have seven generations of bad luck.

The Tomb

The Tomb of Mahsuri. A nice place to visit, and worth paying the RM5!

Another Curse ?

It has been raining here every day for the past 4 days. The breathtaking view of the lush paddy field, rainforest and mountains now been flooded with murky water.

Self Potrait ( According To Erika )

Today's post is an essentially random collection of  my own personal pictures  V(^_^)

Birthday Card

Erika probably has more pure imagination than any other skill, probably better than me...

Otosan ( which mean Father in Japanese )

Erika's innate talents, like me, appear to be elsewhere, but unlike me, he makes up for it with cuteness...

Okasan ( Mother in Japanese)

I honestly don't know if Naomi aware that this is what Erika think of her.

With Love : Dari Langkawi Ke Tokyo !

Jumaat 11 March 2011. While we all may not be in Japan, I now our hearts and thoughts all certainly are. My hope is that this blog will serve to harness the support and goodwill of our community and move us forward.

Charmmy Hello Kitty

I bought Hello Kitty up in relation to Japanese culture and has been exported all over the world (globalization!).

Odaiba City-Tokyo

I took this photo of Statue Of Liberty & Rainbow Bridge from Odaiba Aqua City in Tokyo last year.  Every time I see these pix, I wonder how big the next tidal wave boleh terjadi lagi ?

Fuji san

Earthquake measuring at a magnitude of 6.6 on the Richter scale shook central Japan near Mt. Fuji previously. This photo was taken near Hanamiyako Koen near Shizuoka in September 2010.

Disney's Magic Kingdom - DisneyLand

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea suspended operations due to the effect of the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake on 11th of March 2011.

Tokyo Sukai Tsuri / Tokyo Sky Tree

To keep the structure safe during Japan's frequent earthquakes, the tower boasts a cutting-edge, anti-seismic design, including pilings that fan out underground like the branches of a tree ( Tokyo Sky Tree at the background image). This pix was taken near Asakusa Shrine in Tokyo, Japan.

Peaceful Trail

The Sagano Bamboo Grove in the mountainous Arashiyama region of Kyoto.

Dotonbori , Osaka

Erika sangat sayangkan bandar Osaka.

The massive typhoon and tsunami , assaulted the shores of Kyushu untuk 2 hari berturut turut and destroyed much of the Mongol fleet.

Langkawi's Whale Shark - Sightings & Reports.

Several pix of Whale Shark off  Langkawi Island of which i managed to capture in the late of  2009. Less sightings was reported after that especially in 2010. Generally considered harmless, however there have been a few cases of whale sharks butting sportfishing boats, possibly after being provoked. Now, the whale shark is listed as "Vulnerable" with the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). There is a serious need for us to recommend some protection to be introduce because of the possible serious impact that the fishery may be making on whale shark stocks.

Langkawi Own Version Of Moby Dick

We had close encounters with enormous Whale sharks in Langkawi waters. These incredible shots were made near the shore of Berjaya Langkawi Resort in December 2009.

Stunning Encounter

Swimming closely to the surface - Whale sharks are prone to collisions with fast boats.

The Deep Blue Monster

Well, it was amazing, to say the least.
More than 10 of whale sharks gather in this area to feed on abundant plankton in Langkawi water  .

Torpedo Scad or Cencaru

Also known as the hardtail scad - abundant in Langkawi.

Egi Squid ( Oval Squid )

Japanese squid fishing techniques demonstrated by Erika at Pantai Kok , Langkawi.
This pix was captured in Harbour Park,Langkawi but there are also plenty of areas within Langkawi  Harbour where healthy populations of squid exist.

Release the KRAKEN !

Theres no bait...there is just lures called jigs...which usually looks like a shrimp...our favourite color of jigs is pink  :)

This Is Where My Heart Is... Kampung Life !

I love Kampung (Village) life. My goal for this blog
was to tell my own children and others how much better it was in the old days.

Today's post is an essentially random collection of  my own personal pictures  V(^_^)

A Quiet Lake

I recommend this quiet lake to anyone looking for a place to relax after or inbetween visiting the bustling and tourist covered Island in Langkawi. I really enjoyed fishing at this magnificent lake with spectacular views in between Langkawi main town,Kuah and my home.

Small Fish In Big Pond

It was getting late in the day and this is Erika first catch but she released back into the wild lake for survival, of course.

Green Mushroom

It was not possible to miss this mushroom while walking in the park near the lake. Its rich green colour and round form are as attractive at least as much as the poisonous of the mushroom. BE CAREFUL…. in regards to picking mushrooms…WHEN IN DOUBT, JUST  THROW IT OUT.

Catch Of The Day

And finished the day with a few Catfish!

Little Flower- Reverse Lenses For Macro.

Macro Red

I am quite new to the world of photography. In fact, it was exactly few years ago today that I first experimented with this new technique and i found out that the reversed lens is a great tool to have in your toolbox, but don’t let it define your style.

Nature Beauty

Picture taken behind my house, after some rain.I love the stunning colour.

Another Macro

You can barely see the ants now.

Langkawi - My Own PhotoShelter.

Today's post is an essentially random collection of my own personal pictures V (^ _ ^)

                                         Macro Close Up

Our desire to see objects up close is innate.Like telescopes, macro lens offer a safe haven for viewing the world around us.

Magical times

There's so much photographic opportunity in a field of wildflowers at Langkawi mountains range.I am using Nikkor 35-80mm.Despite the negatives about this lens (plastic lens mount, slow minimum apertures, questionable build quality) it was surprisingly good for snapshots around the house or on the street.

                                                              Dont Mess with Me!

This is one of my favorite images to date, and the reason is because I personally love the message here: Defiance and even "rebel"!

Meet Uncle Hermit from Tanjung Rhu

At first sight-Hermit crab at Tanjung Rhu Langkawi. You bet! It's not the traditional choice, but shooting close ups with a wide angel lens is a worthy investigation.

                                                                Hymenoptera

?! Bryan Petterson - Seorang photograher professional pernah berkata: Why I am not a wildlife photographer Patience You need a lot of it, and when they were giving out the patience genes, I quickly got bored and left the line that everyone else was standing in . Saya memang setuju!!

Arachnomorpha!

Look really sharp but sometimes a bit too artificial for me.
Took this image just at the back of my home in Langkawi.

Langkawi - Pretty Photos Of The Cats & Insects.

We had a nice storm blow through in Langkawi last night, so I sat near to my window, switch "on" the PC, enjoying the rain, angin, guruh, and halilintar while I worked. Terjumpa beberapa keping gambar kucing kesayangan yang kini tengah tidur "melentok" di bawah meja ditepi saya.

                                                   Gonbei

Naomi (my wife) love the name of Gonbei as to remember Kayano Gonbei, a Japanese Samurai of the late Edo period, who served the Matsudaira clan of Aizu during Boshin War. Berat si Gonbei ini hampir mencecah 7 kilogram!

Another shot with Sigma 70-300mm.

Teru Chan

Cukup cepat masa berlalu.

Mi-ke, Tora & Miru Chan

Earlier, There WAS a minor traffic jam Bila Ketiga-tiga Mahu Bergambar Bersama .            Beautiful, clever, Wonderful, amazing, kind and Kitty! Ketiga-tiga Adalah Anak Kepada Teru Chan!

Nikkor 35-80mm with Telephoto.

Cicada Not Cenkadak!

Cicada -. The noisemakers with distinctive song Another sound producing locust like crickets
At one point while I was working, ada seekor cicada (Orang Langkawi panggil "Riang-Riang") landed on the top edge of my PC screen, and sat there beberapa minit memerhatikan jari jemari saya menaip di keyboard komputer. Terus saya menyambar kamera and I Happened to Have Shot snapped this. After a while, he Flew off.
Inilah rupanya ........

Langkawi - A Randomly Photographed Tour in Kilim

There's nothing particularly special at Kilim, but then again, it's fairly typical Langkawi. Jadi kenalah bawa kamera bersama. Trip kali ini ditaja oleh Stardust Langkawi.

Kilim GeoForest Park

Membazir duit ?

Another Traditional Schooner

But.......Holy cow, it was a powerful yatch !

Average Fishing Rod For Average Fisherman !

Kraken or Crab ken ?

Could this be the monster of the sea released by Poseidon (God of the sea in Greek mythology) to ruin cities and  destroy area with his hurricanes?
